Some love stories begin with fireworks. Others begin at a party, quietly tucked into a moment neither person sees coming. Amy and Luke’s story is a little of both—with a beautiful twist of fate (and a well timed Instagram comment) to bring it all together.
A Connection Years in the Making
Both originally from New Zealand, Amy and Luke each moved to Australia when they were younger. Amy became close friends with Luke’s sister, and it was through that connection that she first met Luke at a friend’s party. They hit it off, but with strong friendships already in place, they decided not to blur the lines—choosing instead to part ways and continue exploring their own lives.
Years passed, until one day, a reply to an Instagram photo reconnected them. That small moment sparked something much bigger… and the rest, as they say, is history.
The First Date
“We were both awkward, trying to play it cool,” Amy recalls. Luke cooked lamb for dinner—sweet and thoughtful, except Amy didn’t eat lamb at the time. Still, she smiled through it and pretended to enjoy every bite.
Life Together
Their favourite thing to do together? Simple moments—time at the beach with their dog and their little boy, soaking up the sunshine along Western Australia’s beautiful coastline. “It’s where we’re happiest,” Amy says.
She knew Luke was “the one” when she saw how deeply he cared for his mother during a time she needed him most. That love, selflessness, and quiet strength made it all crystal clear.
The Proposal
Luke planned a trip to Mt Cook, New Zealand—a place that holds deep meaning for him. That evening, during a peaceful family walk down to the lake, he proposed!
Why a Destination Wedding in Fiji?
“We love having fun and creating memories with our favourite people,” Amy shares. “One day just wasn’t enough to celebrate with everyone we love. Fiji gave us that extra time to really connect—with moments before and after the wedding to just enjoy being together.”
The Experience with Nadi Bay Photography
After endless scrolling, reviews, and requests for sample galleries, Amy found Nadi Bay Photography—and instantly knew they were the right choice.
“They were so easy to deal with and helped me think of things I didn’t even realise I’d need. I’m usually not comfortable in front of the camera, but the team made me feel so relaxed. We laughed the whole way through, and they truly captured the feeling of the day.”
Amy’s favourite part? “How comfortable they made me feel. They didn’t just take photos—they captured the mood, the people, the love. Every moment I had hoped for was there.”
Final Words of Thanks
“Thank you Nadi Bay for really paying attention to the photos we wanted! You made us feel seen and celebrated—and gave us memories we’ll treasure forever.”
